Daryl Gurney has been called up to the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam after visa issues forced the withdrawal of Philippines players Lourence Ilagon and Alexis Toylo from the September 17-20 event. Gurney and the Netherlands' Maik Kuivenhoven, the highest-ranked players on the reserve list, will replace them. Gurney faces reigning champion and home favourite Michael van Gerwen in the first round at AFAS Live on Thursday, while Kuivenhoven plays Jonny Clayton the following day.

Luke Littler, the 2024 champion who lost to Van Gerwen in last year's final, heads to Amsterdam aiming to complete a clean sweep of majors. The world champion plays Danny Noppert in round one, with Luke Humphries opening against Jermaine Wattimena and Gian van Veen facing Chris Dobey.

The tournament runs from September 17-20, with the first two days featuring eight first-round matches each. The quarter-finals take place on Saturday afternoon, followed by the semi-finals and final on Sunday evening. Sky Sports will broadcast all the action live, with the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts, and World Championship also airing later in the year.
