Wigan Warriors captured their 22nd Challenge Cup, beating Hull KR 40-10 at Wembley in front of a capacity crowd at the iconic stadium. Seven tries highlighted a dominant display, with Jack Farrimond scoring twice and collecting the Lance Todd Trophy. Coach Matt Peet secured his eighth trophy, extending the club’s record run of titles. The victory marked the first silverware since 2024 and cemented Wigan’s status as the competition’s benchmark.

Hull KR opened the scoring when Peta Hiku crossed with ten seconds left in the first half, cutting the deficit to 10-4. A missed conversion by Rhyse Martin left them trailing at halftime. In the second half Wigan surged, with Junior Nsemba, Adam Keighran (twice) and Bevan French adding tries, pushing the lead beyond 30 points.

The match ended controversially when Sam Walters received a red card for a dangerous tackle on Bill Leyland, the first dismissal in a final since 1993. Despite playing a man down, Wigan held on to the 40-10 margin. Earlier, the club had celebrated the women’s 54-6 win over St Helens, making both sides double champions on the same day.
