Frank Warren wants Tyson Fury to take a warm-up bout before facing Anthony Joshua in a potential November mega-fight. The British rivals are finally set for a long-awaited all-British heavyweight clash. Joshua has already scheduled a tune-up contest against Albania's Kristian Prenga for July 25 in Riyadh, but Warren told Sky Sports News Fury won't be on the same bill.

After announcing his retirement at the start of last year, Fury returned to beat Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April—his first UK victory since 2022. Following that win, he called for an immediate contest with Joshua. However, Joshua is still recovering from a serious car accident that killed two of his close friends, requiring his own comeback fight first.

Fury wants to keep active and avoid another lengthy ring absence. "He doesn't want to be waiting, otherwise he'll be out the ring for nearly eight months again and he doesn't want that," Warren said. The promoter expects the Joshua fight will take place in November and hopefully in the UK.
