Trent Rockets secured their second win in The Hundred women's competition by defeating Welsh Fire by eight wickets in Cardiff. Beth Mooney's impressive 57 off 35 balls was the cornerstone of the Rockets' successful chase of 130.

Mooney, an Australian wicketkeeper, formed a crucial 75-run opening partnership with England's Sophia Dunkley (15 off 17). Even after Dunkley's dismissal and Mooney reaching her half-century in 27 balls, Nat Sciver-Brunt (37no off 23) continued the charge, guiding the Rockets to victory with Ash Gardner (10no off 9) as they reached their target with 17 balls to spare.

Welsh Fire posted a below-par score of 129-3 after being put in to bat. Openers Georgia Voll (18) and Ella Mc Caughan (6) fell early. Freya Kemp (36no off 29) and captain Sophie Devine (38 off 25) offered some resistance with a partnership, but their total proved insufficient, marking their second defeat in the tournament.

Beth Mooney was named Meerkat Match Hero, commenting on the importance of a significant partnership in chasing down a target. The Hundred continues with Southern Brave hosting Birmingham Phoenix.
