LIV Golf chief executive Scott O'Neil remains optimistic about the league's future despite recent financial challenges. Speaking ahead of the Indianapolis event, O'Neil acknowledged that several years have been challenging for golf, but believes the circuit is at a "really special inflection point."

The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced earlier this year it would not bankroll the league beyond this season, having invested over $5 billion across five years. LIV Golf is now finalizing a deal with a new investor, with a signed term sheet already secured from a lead investor.

O'Neil emphasized that the next chapter will focus on commercial discipline and building a league majority owned by players. "This next chapter is fundamentally different," he said. "We are building towards a league majority owned by its players. Players aren't simply playing for LIV Golf - they have an opportunity to own it."

Recent reports suggest some high-profile players, including Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau, may consider returns to the PGA Tour. However, O'Neil expressed confidence in LIV Golf's survival, stating: "I wouldn't bet against us."
