World No. 1 Jannik Sinner suffered a dramatic French Open exit when cramp struck him while serving for victory against Juan Manuel Cerundolo. The Italian led 6-3 6-2 5-1 before losing 15 consecutive points and calling for a medical timeout. Sinner, who felt dizzy and nauseous, lost the third set 7-5 after squandering a 5-1 lead.

Sinner's body failed him completely as he was broken twice in the fourth set before Cerundolo took the final set 6-1. The 30-match winning streak came to an abrupt end despite temperatures of 29-32 degrees. Sinner admitted he felt unwell since waking up and had no energy, dismissing suggestions the heat was solely responsible.

This marks Sinner's second early Roland-Garros exit following last year's final loss to Alcaraz. Cerundolo showed sympathy for his opponent, acknowledging luck played a part in reaching the third round. Meanwhile, French teenager Moise Kouame became the fifth-youngest man to reach the third round at a Grand Slam.
