The third round of the PGA Championship gets underway at Aronimink Golf Club with defending champion Scottie Scheffler two shots off the halfway lead. World No 1 Scheffler struggled to a frustrating second-round 71, leaving him trailing leaders Maverick McNealy and Alex Smalley as he bids for a fifth major title in five seasons.

Rory McIlroy roared back into contention with a brilliant bogey-free 67 on Friday, positioning himself for a second major victory this season. The Northern Irishman tees off at 4pm UK time alongside Brooks Koepka, while Scheffler begins his charge at 6.40pm with Spain's David Puig. Cameron Young partners Ryder Cup teammate Justin Thomas at 7pm.

European favourites Justin Rose and Shane Lowry both squeezed through the cut on three and four-over respectively. Englishman Rose starts at 2.15pm UK time, while Ireland's Lowry begins at 1.21pm. Live third-round coverage begins at 3pm on Sky Sports Golf on Saturday.
