Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah confirmed that his move from Liverpool was a “no‑brainer.” The 23‑year‑old joined the Bundesliga club last summer in a £35m deal after 58 appearances for the Reds. He signed a five‑year contract to secure more minutes and has already played 38 games this season.

Quansah said Leverkusen’s management presented a clear plan that matched his own ambitions. He praised the club’s detailed assessment of his potential and the chance to play in the Champions League and a DFB Pokal semi‑final against Bayern. The prospect of top‑level football outweighed staying in a squad where opportunities were limited.

After withdrawing from a March call‑up because of a thigh injury, Quansah now aims to “attack” the remaining fixtures to earn a spot in England’s World Cup squad. He explained that only performance on the pitch will convince selectors and that representing his country would be a great privilege.

With 38 Bundesliga appearances under his belt, Quansah faces a decisive stretch as Leverkusen prepares for the DFB Pokal semi‑final and the Champions League campaign. His performances will determine whether he can secure a place in England’s squad and add another chapter to his rapidly evolving career.
