Denmark international Sofie Junge Pedersen is backing World Football Giving Day as part of her ongoing fight for climate action in football. The initiative encourages donations to non-profit organizations hit by aid cuts on May 26, supported by figures like Jurgen Klopp, Juan Mata, and Dani Olmo. Pedersen believes football's global reach gives it both power and responsibility to create positive change beyond the pitch.

A member of Common Goal, Pedersen pledges 1% of her salary to charitable causes and has visited Zambia and Ghana to witness the impact of fundraising campaigns. She argues football should harness its vast financial resources for grassroots organizations and climate action, questioning why transfer sums continue to increase without directing more toward social and environmental causes.

Despite challenges in making change, Pedersen remains pragmatic. She has organized presentations at Juventus and with the national team about these issues, combining football with health education in Ghana. "Words can be empty," she explains, emphasizing the need for action and showing people they are not alone in fighting for a better world through player-led initiatives.
