Lando Norris topped final practice at the Hungarian Grand Prix with a 1m17.939s lap at the Hungaroring, edging Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari by 0.117s and Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli by 0.129s. The session set up a tightly contested qualifying with the top four teams covered by just three tenths.

Early running was quiet as drivers saved tires for qualifying simulations. Oscar Piastri first broke the 1m20s barrier before Norris set the initial benchmark. A red flag interrupted proceedings when Sergio Perez's Cadillac stopped with a smoking rear end, highlighting recurring brake issues for the new entrant.

On the restart, Ferrari and Mercedes chased Norris' time. Hamilton briefly led by 0.009s before Norris responded. Leclerc took fourth but ran wide on his final attempt, while Piastri cut the Turn 6 chicane. Russell finished sixth, with Verstappen and Hadjar seventh and eighth, both unimpressed with the RB22's handling over the bumps.

Nico Hulkenberg led Audi's charge in ninth ahead of teammate Gabriel Bortoleto, suggesting the German manufacturer holds an edge in the 2026 midfield battle. Arvid Lindblad missed most of the session for Racing Bulls due to a power unit change but managed 13th late on.
