Norris Expects Tough Challenge at Dutch GP

World champion Lando Norris secured pole for Sunday’s Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, but expects a fierce battle. Unlike his dominant Hungary win, Norris remains cautious after Saturday’s sprint revealed race pace issues. Starting second behind George Russell, he faded as Charles Leclerc overtook him late.

His qualifying lap relied on aggressive driving through the high-speed sector. The McLaren driver was 0.28secs quicker than Russell at Turn Seven, exploiting cornering strength. However, race conditions will likely force drivers to manage tire temperatures, potentially neutralizing that specific advantage.

“I am expecting a challenge,” Norris noted, emphasizing the need to balance speeds. Russell seeks to close the gap to leader Kimi Antonelli, while Mercedes’ well-rounded pace could prove decisive. Holding the lead into turn one will be critical for Sunday.
