Motherwell and Hibernian played out a scrappy goalless draw at Fir Park that keeps the hosts in pole position to seal a European slot in the Scottish Premiership. The draw keeps Motherwell six points clear of nearest rivals Hibs in the table, with seven games left to play.

Both sides largely cancelled each other out in front of a bumper 9,371 crowd, with neither goalkeeper forced into a save of note in the first half. Elijah Just had a goal chalked off for offside by VAR, but other than that there was very little to excite the home fans. The second half was livelier but produced no breakthrough.

Home boss Jens Berthel Askou made two changes from the side that lost 3-1 at Celtic, with Emmanuel Longelo suspended. His place was taken by Stephen Welsh, while Oscar Priestman came in for benched Ibrahim Said. Hibs manager David Gray also made a couple of changes as Jordan Obita and Martin Boyle came in for Jack Iredale and Owen Elding. Boyle drew a blank in his 400th appearance for the Edinburgh club.
