Rising British heavyweight Moses Itauma is targeting a world championship fight in 2026, according to his promoter Frank Warren. The 21-year-old, already ranked No 1 by two governing bodies, faces Jermaine Franklin on March 28 at Co-op Live Arena in what Warren calls a crucial test. Itauma has been moving quickly through the heavyweight ranks with just 13 professional fights.

Warren believes a dominant performance against Franklin could set up a world title shot later this year. "We believe in him," Warren said of Itauma, who dispatched former world title challenger Dillian Whyte in under two minutes last August. Franklin presents a stern test - he's never been stopped and holds wins over notable contenders.

The young British prospect already sits atop the rankings with both the WBA and WBO while holding the No 3 spot with the WBC. His rapid ascent has put the heavyweight division on notice. "I feel like I am [one of the world's best heavyweights]," Itauma said. "I just have to prove it." A victory over Franklin would likely accelerate his path to challenging for a world title in 2026.
