Maria Jose Marin claimed the Augusta National Women's Amateur title after setting a new tournament record with her 14-under 202 total. The 19-year-old Colombian overcame a one-shot deficit to defeat a faltering Asterisk Talley, who collapsed with a 75 on the final day. Marin's four-under 68 in the final round secured a comfortable victory at Augusta National.

Talley's meltdown began on the par-four 11th and reached its peak on the par-three 12th, where she recorded a quadruple-bogey seven after multiple attempts from bunkers. While the Californian teenager stumbled, Marin seized control with a birdie on the 13th, extending her lead to five shots and effectively ending the competition. Andrea Revuelta finished as runner-up.

Marin, a junior at Arkansas, becomes the third NCAA champion to win at Augusta National following Jennifer Kupcho and Rose Zhang. The victory avenged her disappointment of missing the cut last year and earned her LPGA Tour major exemptions. Colombian golf now celebrates a breakthrough winner at the home of the Masters.
