Manchester City are interested in signing Cody Gakpo from Liverpool, who is currently a target for Tottenham. City are looking to improve their forward line as Savinho and potentially Omar Marmoush prepare to join Spurs.

Liverpool do not want to sell Gakpo at this stage. They would likely need to bring in two wide forwards to be comfortable letting him go. The 27-year-old started and scored in the Reds' Premier League opener against Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Man City have verbally agreed a deal with Palmeiras to sign Allan for £34m. This serves as a replacement for Savinho, with Spurs set to pay up to £85m for him. City also reported being close to agreeing a deal for Marmoush.
