Luke Humphries has expressed his desire to face rival Luke Littler in the final of the World Matchplay Darts event, aiming for a 'dream draw' that would allow him to 'beat the best'. Humphries, who won the tournament in 2024 and subsequently the World Darts Championship, sees a victory over Littler as the ultimate achievement.

Humphries stated that playing Littler in the Winter Gardens final would add 'extra sparkle' and a significant achievement to winning the major. He acknowledged their developing rivalry, predicting it will 'flip-flop' with wins. He believes both players must perform at their peak against each other.

Despite being in what he considers the 'best of his life' form, Humphries recognizes the difficulty of the Matchplay, recalling his first-round exit in 2025. He is determined to win the title again this year, starting with his opening match against Cameron Menzies. The tournament runs from July 18 to July 26, with all matches live on Sky Sports.
