England striker Ivan Toney will face trial over an alleged assault at a London nightclub in summer 2028.
The 30-year-old is accused of headbutting and punching Saber Da Silva during a confrontation at a nightclub in Wardour Street, central London, on December 6 last year.
Toney appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Thursday morning and formally entered a not guilty plea to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. A provisional trial date was set for June 12, 2028 by Judge Christopher Hehir, who cited court backlogs.
Toney was released on unconditional bail after the brief hearing. The criminal case follows a Metropolitan Police investigation. Represented England at this summer's World Cup, Toney has made 10 international appearances and scored one goal. He started his career with Northampton before moving to Brentford in 2020, scoring 72 goals in four years, then joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli in 2024.
