Charles Leclerc set the fastest time on the second day of Formula 1 testing in Bahrain, topping McLaren's Lando Norris with a 1:34.273s lap. Ferrari and McLaren impressed with strong reliability, while Red Bull and Mercedes suffered technical setbacks. Leclerc's performance came after Norris had led the first day's running at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli managed only three installation laps in the morning due to a power unit issue before George Russell took over and finished fourth overall. Red Bull's Isack Hadjar managed just one installation lap before lunch due to a hydraulic leak, though both teams recovered in the afternoon session. McLaren's Norris completed 149 laps while Leclerc managed 139, including a full race simulation.

The testing highlights Ferrari's perfect reliability record to date as teams adapt to new 2026 regulations including power unit and chassis changes. With Lewis Hamilton set to drive the SF-26 on Friday, Ferrari appears well-positioned heading into the season opener in Australia from March 6-8. McLaren, seeking their third consecutive Constructors' Championship, have also shown impressive consistency since overcoming an early issue in Barcelona.
