The race began with Leclerc seizing the lead from the second row, but a Safety Car saw him fall to third behind Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli. He kept pace into the final stages, only to be overtaken by McLaren’s Oscar Piastri on the penultimate lap.

On the last lap, a hard push pushed Leclerc into the wall, after which he struggled to maintain grip. Stewards ruled his corner‑cutting a clear advantage, issuing the 20‑second sanction that erased a strong finish.

Leclerc admitted the error, saying, “It’s all on me and I don’t have much to add.” The penalty reshuffled the top eight, leaving Hamilton ahead and underlining the fine margins at Miami GP.
