LeBron James has decided to join the Philadelphia 76ers for his record-extending 24th NBA season, the league's all-time leading scorer announced Friday. James, who spent the last eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, aims to compete for another championship.

"I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time," James wrote on social media. He emphasized that this decision is not driven by money or family, but by a desire to continue competing and winning at the highest level.

The 41-year-old James continues to perform at an elite level, earning his league-record 22nd All-Star selection last February. He averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists over 60 games in his previous season.
