Josh Kelly has promised a "spiteful" clash with Caoimhin Agyarko as he defends his IBF light-middleweight title on Saturday's undercard of Anthony Joshua's return against Kristian Prenga at the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia. Sunderland's Kelly won the belt in January against Bakhram Murtazaliev, telling Sky Sports the championship has given him added belief.

"The thing it has done for me inside is worth its weight in gold," Kelly said. "It's actually taken a lot of expectation off. It's like I can now just let loose, let the reins go and just enjoy everything." Agyarko, from Belfast, was originally scheduled for a final eliminator against Brandon Adams in April, but the American collapsed before the weigh-in. The IBF then allowed Kelly a voluntary first defence against Agyarko.

Kelly has won eight straight fights since his sole career loss to David Avanesyan in 2021, while Agyarko last scored a split-decision victory over Ishmael Davis in December. "There's no complacency," Kelly insisted. "I've never overlooked anyone... I'm just going to go in there and enjoy it, put an absolute spectacle on. It's going to be fun. It's going to be spiteful."
