World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the Rolex Shanghai Masters and China Open, citing a persistent knee injury that also forced him to miss the US Open. The Italian last competed at Wimbledon in July, where he defended his title against Alexander Zverev. Sinner expressed disappointment on Instagram, thanking fans for their support and looking forward to returning next year.
His absence reshapes the Race to Turin standings, with Zverev now leading by 800 points over Sinner. Other top players, including Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton, and Flavio Cobolli, are set to compete in Shanghai, while streaming options remain available via Sky Sports and NOW.
