Hearn: Fury vs Joshua Fight Cannot Be Cancelled

Eddie Hearn insists the heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is contractually binding and cannot be cancelled, despite Fury's claims that Joshua asked for more money. "We've signed the contract, we're waiting for a date. You saw Tyson Fury shouting and screaming - there's nothing to shout and scream about, the fight's done," Hearn told DAZN. "The fight's signed. No-one can pull out of the fight. You can't just pull out of a contract."

Fury claimed on Friday the fight is in serious doubt, labelling Joshua and his team "cowards." However, Hearn, who represents Joshua, remains confident the bout will proceed. The only way the fight stops is if a party breaches the contract.

Talks have targeted November for the all-British showdown, with Wembley Stadium in London as the likely venue. The original contract specified the UK, but Saudi organisers Skill Challenge are pushing for a move to the United States. "We know everybody and his dog involved in the fight wants to do the fight in Saudi Arabia. We don't," Hearn added. Previous negotiations collapsed in 2021 after a US judge ruled Fury had to face Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight instead.
