Tyrrell Hatton is among eight DP World Tour members granted permission to compete in conflicting LIV Golf tournaments in 2026. This release comes after Hatton agreed to pay outstanding fines for breaching tour regulations by participating in LIV events without authorization. The eight players, including Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry, Tom McKibbin, Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, David Puig, and Elvis Smylie, will retain membership status and face no disciplinary action provided they meet strict conditions.

These include settling all fines and withdrawing appeals, plus participating in additional tour events and media activities. Hatton's eligibility for the 2027 Ryder Cup now appears secure following this development. Jon Rahm, however, is notably absent from the list. The two-time major champion has stated he has 'no intention' of paying estimated £2.5million fines for similar LIV participation, potentially jeopardizing his Ryder Cup spot. The DP World Tour emphasized these releases are for 2026 only and not a precedent, with disciplinary action continuing against non-compliant members.
