Lewis Hamilton secured his first Ferrari victory at the Barcelona‑Catalunya Grand Prix, capitalising on an aggressive tyre strategy and a mid‑race Virtual Safety Car dramatically. The 41‑year‑old driver became the seventh oldest F1 winner, edging George Russell and Lando Norris to deliver the first all‑British podium since 1968. Hamilton’s win ends a 15‑month drought since his last triumph with Mercedes.

Ferrari’s pit‑stop timing forced Russell and championship leader Kimi Antonelli onto early stops, stripping them of track position. Hamilton pitted on laps 12 and 28 for fresh mediums, then exploited the VSC on lap 41 to switch to hards with minimal time loss. Fresh tyres allowed him to pull away, while Antonelli’s Mercedes suffered a power‑unit failure with four laps remaining.

Russell recovered to finish second, while Norris claimed his second podium of the season as McLaren improved its pace. Charles Leclerc’s late steering issue dropped him out of the top five, and Max Verstappen trailed Hamilton by 40 seconds in fourth. The result cuts Antonelli’s championship lead to 41 points, tightening the title battle as the season heads toward Austria.
