Bayern remain second behind Freiburg, who thrashed Borussia Monchengladbach 5-0, prompting the sacking of coach Eugen Polanski. Borussia Dortmund maintained their perfect record with a 3-0 win over Paderborn, while Schalke claimed their first Bundesliga victory since promotion. Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Noah Atubolu saved a sixth consecutive penalty.

In La Liga, Barcelona beat Levante 4-2 with Lamine Yamal scoring twice, including a penalty. The Catalan side have netted 19 goals in four games under Hansi Flick. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim's Sporting CP remain unbeaten after a comeback win, and Cameron Archer scored for Auxerre in Ligue 1. Davy Klaassen also reached a landmark appearance for Ajax.
