Alice Capsey and Heather Knight powered England to a 2-1 T20 series victory over India with stunning half-centuries at Taunton. Capsey's 82 off 43 deliveries and Knight's unbeaten 70 guided the home side to chase down India's 181-run target despite early wickets falling. Their 137-run partnership from just 76 balls proved decisive in the series decider.

India had posted a competitive total thanks to Harmanpreet Kaur's 56 not out and contributions from Deepti Sharma and Yastika Bhatia, both scoring 32. England found themselves three wickets down for 38 inside five overs but recovered impressively. The chase marked the highest successful run chase by England Women's T20 side on home soil.

Capsey, named Player of the Match, was praised by coach Charlotte Edwards for her all-round abilities. Edwards admitted the selection dilemma has actually strengthened the squad ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup. "The competition for places within this side, they keep putting in performances," Edwards said, noting that 15 players in the squad could feature in the starting XI.
