Dave Allen targets Filip Hrgovic with big Doncaster showdown

Dave Allen arrives in Doncaster confident he can upset Filip Hrgovic, calling the WBO heavyweight champion an all-rounder who cuts easily. The British heavyweight, who lost his last fight to Arslanbek Makhmudov, believes the best version of himself will give Hrgovic serious problems at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Allen's credentials carry weight. He's sparred with Oleksandr Usyk, Wladimir Klitschko, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, claiming he's won rounds off all of them. Despite a career that includes wins over Lucas Browne and Johnny Fisher, he admits he's never quite put it all together on the night.

"He's a good fighter, he's tough, he's strong," Allen told Sky Sports. "But I've got no fear of him at all. He's going to get a right shock." His matchup with Hrgovic on June 6 could define whether Allen's talent finally translates into the elite-level result he's been chasing.
