Celtic have held constructive talks with Robbie Keane about their managerial vacancy, with further discussions scheduled for this week. The club's principal shareholder Dermot Desmond will speak with interim boss Martin O'Neill in the next 24 hours to establish his appetite for remaining at the club in some capacity.

If O'Neill wants to stay permanently, Celtic are open to discussing a short-term contract. If not, they may offer him a role in football operations or as an advisor. Keane, who is a free agent after resigning from Ferencvaros, would reportedly bring in Stephen Glass, Scott Brown, and Jonny Hayes as his backroom staff.

Celtic would still like to speak with Wales boss Craig Bellamy, though he reiterated his commitment to Wales on Monday. The former Celtic forward said he is "happy" with his current job. Celtic would ideally have a manager in place for pre-season, adding urgency to the search for Brendan Rodgers' permanent replacement.
