Michael Carrick has labelled Manchester United's clash with Liverpool as one of his favourite games ahead of Sunday's showdown at Old Trafford. The pair meet on Super Sunday (kick-off 3.30pm) with just three points separating them in the race for the top four. Carrick told his pre-match press conference: "It's certainly one of my favourite games. It's a standout game. There's big games and big rivalries that we have with other teams, but this one is right up there."

Liverpool boss Arne Slot acknowledged the stakes, describing victory as an "important step" towards Champions League qualification. The Reds sit fourth, level on 58 points with Aston Villa in fifth but ahead on goal difference. Slot noted Carrick's impact: "They have, especially under Michael Carrick, become more consistent in their results." Man Utd won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Anfield in October under former boss Ruben Amorim.

Man Utd haven't secured a league double over Liverpool since the 2015/16 season, while Liverpool won 3-0 at Old Trafford last term before a 2-2 draw at Anfield. Carrick insisted: "We're treating it as a one-off game. It's a real privilege for us all to be involved in it." The result will have significant implications for the top-four race.
