Brighton to Sign Tottenham's Luka Vuskovic in £50m Deal

Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic will complete a move to Brighton after the clubs agreed to a deal worth approximately £50m. The package includes £46m upfront plus £4m in achievable add-ons, with a 20% sell-on clause and matching rights protecting Spurs' interests.

Brighton improved their initial £45m offer to secure the 19-year-old centre-back, who joined Tottenham from Hadjuk Split for £9.5m in 2023. Vuskovic was one of Hamburg's standout performers on loan in the Bundesliga last season, making his priority first-team football this campaign rather than another temporary move.

Spurs strengthened their defensive options significantly with the arrivals of Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi, pushing Vuskovic down the pecking order behind Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. Despite never playing a competitive match for the club, this ranks as Tottenham's fourth-largest sale in history.

The transfer makes commercial sense for Tottenham while giving Vuskovic regular Premier League football. They retain protection through the matching clause if he develops into the world-class defender many expect him to become.
