Haas driver Oliver Bearman walked away from a heavy crash during the Japanese Grand Prix. While chasing Franco Colapinto for 17th place on lap 21, the 20-year-old Brit lost control, veered onto grass, and spun into the barrier at Spoon Curve at high speed. The 50G impact left him needing assistance as marshals helped him from the stricken vehicle.

Bearman was examined at the track's medical center where X-rays revealed no fractures. The driver suffered only a right knee contusion following the collision. Despite limping initially, medical staff confirmed the young British driver avoided serious injury. Haas later confirmed Bearman was "ok" following their assessment.

The crash triggered a Safety Car deployment that dramatically altered race strategy. Kimi Antonelli seized the opportunity to take the lead by leapfrogging Oscar Piastri and George Russell. Bearman's accident demonstrated the dangers of F1 racing while highlighting improved safety standards that prevented what could have been a more severe outcome.
