Arsenal have completed the free signing of former Real Madrid captain and goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez. The 27‑year‑old moves to north London after her Real contract expired and joins Arsenal’s goalkeeping pool alongside Daphne van Domselaar, Anneke Borbe and fellow summer signing Isabella Damm.

Rodriguez made 215 appearances for Real Madrid – more than any player in the club’s history – and has 24 caps for Spain, competing with Barcelona’s Cata Coll for a starting spot in the national team. She also started three group games as Spain won the Women’s World Cup in 2023.

She is Arsenal’s seventh signing of a busy summer window, after moves for Damm, Georgia Stanway, Geraldine Reuteler, Selina Cerci, Ona Batlle and Lisa Baum, and the fifth free transfer, following Stanway, Batlle, Cerci and Reuteler.

“I’m so proud to join this great club,” Rodriguez told Arsenal’s official website. “Arsenal is one of the top clubs in the world and I’m really excited to be part of the team…” Renee Slegers added that Misa is a top goalkeeper who will strengthen the goalkeeping unit. Arsenal’s rebuild scents strong ambition for the future.
