A dozen golfers will compete in a new 'Last-Chance Qualifier' at Royal Birkdale for the final spot in The Open. The field includes Wesley Bryan, known for his YouTube presence and a former PGA Tour player, who missed out by one shot in Final Qualifying.

Other notable competitors include Aldrich Potgieter, the 2022 Amateur Champion and a PGA Tour winner, who secured his place via the world rankings as the highest-ranked player not already exempt. Matti Schmid, who finished top-five at the U.S. Open, also earned entry through the rankings. Spanish players Adri Arnaus and Angel Hidalgo, along with professionals Joe Dean, Andrew Wilson, Charles Huntzinger, John Gough, and Marcus Helligkilde, are also in the mix after falling short in Final Qualifying.

Two amateurs, Matt Moloney and Sam Easterbrook, round out the 18-hole event. The winner of this qualifier will earn the last available berth in The Open, adding an extra layer of drama to the lead-up to the major championship. The draw for the qualifier is set for Saturday, with highlights to be shown on Sky Sports Golf.
