USWNT midfielders Croix Bethune and Claire Hutton have completed seven-figure transfers to new NWSL clubs in separate deals totaling $2.1 million. Bethune moves from the Washington Spirit to the Kansas City Current for $1 million, while Hutton joins Bay FC from Kansas City for $1.1 million.

Both players requested trades and had to consent under the league's collective bargaining agreement. Bethune, drafted third overall in 2024, tied the NWSL record with 10 assists before a season-ending injury. She won Rookie of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, and a first-team selection. Hutton, who joined Kansas City as an 18-year-old, started 22 games to help win the NWSL Shield and earned first-team honors.

These intra-league deals rank as the second and third highest in NWSL history. The transfers follow last year's record $1.25 million move of Jaedyn Shaw from North Carolina Courage to Gotham FC. Bethune has seven USWNT caps with one goal, while Hutton has 13 caps and one goal, recently captaining the national team against Paraguay.
