Thomas Tuchel confirms he will remain England head coach until Euro 2028 despite World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina in Atlanta. The German, appointed January 2025, signed an extension through the home Euros co-hosted by England, Wales, Scotland and Republic of Ireland.

England led through Anthony Gordon but conceded late to Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez. Tuchel said: "We keep on going with the contract until the home Euros. I'm looking forward to that even though right now it's difficult to look that far ahead." England face France in Miami Saturday for third place.

Captain Harry Kane admitted trying to hold 1-0 lead backfired. "Once we went 1-0 up we seemed to just try and hold on which at this level is just not enough," Kane said. He noted Tuchel's message was to push for a second goal but England retreated, inviting pressure.

Kane acknowledged second semi-final in eight years as achievement but stressed missing "final piece." Tuchel vowed professional response: "The thing for us is to bounce back and react. That's what you have to do at the highest level of sport."
