Sevilla fired Argentine coach Matías Almeyda on Monday following their 2-0 home loss to Valencia, plunging the club further into LaLiga relegation trouble. The club announced Almeyda's dismissal after the defeat, placing him 15th in the standings, just three points above the relegation zone after 29 matches. Sevilla's winless run extends to eight games, highlighted by only one victory since December, a 1-0 win at Getafe last month.

Almeyda, 52, leaves after a 32-match tenure since June, with a record of 10 wins, seven draws, and 15 losses. His suspension for five games, stemming from an argument with officials in February, coincided with the club's struggles. Sevilla's next match is against last-place Oviedo on April 5.
