AS Monaco has signed Matthis Abline from Nantes, forming a potential forward line with United States striker Folarin Balogun. The 23-year-old Abline signed a five-year contract, with the transfer fee reportedly around €25 million.

Abline, a former France Under-21 international, scored 15 goals in Ligue 1 for Nantes over the past two seasons. Nantes was relegated and will play in the second tier this season, while Monaco finished seventh in Ligue 1 and will begin UEFA Conference League qualifying on August 20.

Balogun is preparing for his fourth season at Monaco. He recently scored three goals at the World Cup, where the U.S. was eliminated in the round of 16. Balogun is now represented by the Klutch Sports agency.
