With Halloween falling on a Saturday in 2026, MLS adjusted its usual 7:30 p.m. kickoff times to let players and fans enjoy the holiday. The league asked clubs whether they preferred earlier start times or Sunday games. Only one match keeps the standard prime-time slot: the Colorado Rapids host the Chicago Fire at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, where fans receive a five-pound bag of potatoes during Fan Appreciation Night. The other eight Saturday games begin at 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. local, while six additional games are slated for Sunday.
New York City FC is among the clubs hosting a 2:00 p.m. kickoff, giving midfielder Keaton Parks plenty of time to perfect his costume. The 29-year-old, nicknamed "Big Bird," previously dressed as the beloved character last year and now has extra hours to refine his look.
Nashville SC cleared its entire Saturday schedule, welcoming Red Bull New York for a Sunday matinee. This opens up the afternoon for United States goalkeeper Brian Schwake, who plans to trick-or-treat early with his young son.
