Defending champion Miyu Yamashita carded a five-under 67 on Saturday to build a two-stroke lead heading into the final round of the LPGA Tour's Maybank Championship at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club. The 2025 Women's British Open winner sits at 18-under par overall after 54 holes, having won last year's tournament in a three-way playoff.
China's Yan Liu produced the round of the day with a 63, featuring an eagle and nine birdies, to move into a tie for second place alongside Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, who also shot 67. Yan, aiming to keep a steady mindset, said: "One shot at a time, just live in the present."
Yuri Yoshida, who won last week's BMW Ladies Championship, shot 66 to finish at 11-under par. The two leading English players, Charley Hull and Lottie Woad, remain well adrift at nine and 10-under respectively, eight shots behind the leader.
Live coverage of the Maybank Championship continues from 1.30am on Sunday on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Mix.
