Mbappé, France Federation Condemn Senator's Racist Remarks

France's football federation and star player Kylian Mbappé have strongly condemned racist comments made by Paraguay senator Celeste Amarilla. Mbappé called Amarilla a "despicable woman unworthy of her office" on social media, while the French Football Federation (FFF) labeled her remarks "utterly abhorrent and unacceptable" and vowed judicial action.

These statements follow France's narrow 1-0 World Cup victory over Paraguay. Mbappé scored the decisive goal via a penalty in the 70th minute, describing the gritty win as a test of their ability to play "ugly football." Amarilla had personally attacked Mbappé, criticizing his sportsmanship and making racist accusations.

Several Paraguayan officials, including Vice President Pedro Alliana and congresswoman Johanna Ortega, have distanced themselves from Amarilla's comments, emphasizing respect and equality in football. Mbappé, who has seven goals in the tournament, is tied for the World Cup lead and faces Morocco in the quarterfinals on July 9.
