Mascherano: Miami to Rotate Squad in Friendly vs Independiente

Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano confirmed the team will use Thursday's friendly against Independiente del Valle as an opportunity to give all players minutes on the field. The Herons face the rescheduled preseason match in Puerto Rico before traveling to Orlando to play Orlando City just 72 hours later.

Mascherano emphasized the importance of balancing player rotation with preparation for the upcoming MLS match. Despite returning to regular-season action so soon after the friendly, the coach plans to evaluate players who have had limited preseason minutes while being mindful of the quick turnaround to Sunday's crucial game.

The friendly was originally scheduled for February 13 but postponed after Lionel Messi suffered a hamstring strain during a previous match. Messi has since returned to action, playing the full 90 minutes in Miami's MLS season opener against Los Angeles FC. Mateo Silvetti remains the only player in doubt for Thursday's match after suffering a strain last week.
