Inter Miami has become the first MLS team to surpass $1.45 billion in valuation, according to Sportico's latest report. The club's value jumped 22% following their MLS Cup victory in December, marking a significant milestone for Major League Soccer's financial growth. David Beckham's ownership group has seen their investment transform dramatically since Lionel Messi's arrival in 2023.

Miami now leads the league's valuation rankings ahead of LAFC at $1.4 billion, which had held the top spot for four consecutive years. The top five also includes the LA Galaxy at $1.17 billion, Atlanta United at $1.14 billion, and New York City FC at $1.12 billion. This represents a broader trend of MLS expansion, with five clubs now valued over $1 billion and the league's average valuation reaching $767 million across 30 teams.

The financial growth reflects MLS's rising profile in North American sports, though the league still trails behind traditional major sports leagues. The combined valuation of all MLS teams stands at $23 billion, placing Miami 116th among 154 teams across the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. At the top of the overall rankings are the Dallas Cowboys at $12.8 billion, Golden State Warriors at $11.33 billion, and Los Angeles Rams at $10.43 billion.

This valuation surge comes as MLS prepares for its 2026 season kickoff on February 21, when LAFC hosts Inter Miami in what promises to be a showcase match between the league's two most valuable franchises. The financial success validates the league's strategy of attracting global stars and expanding into new markets.
