Manchester United sacked Ruben Amorim in January and moved quickly under interim manager Michael Carrick. The side qualified for the Champions League and finished third, with fresh signings Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko all contributing. Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo emerged as a key figure. Despite cautious optimism, questions linger over Carrick's permanent appointment and whether sporting director Jason Wilcox and CEO Omar Berrada are making the right call.

Bruno Fernandes tops the extension priority list. His contract runs through 2027 with an option to 2028, and Mark believes he deserves a new deal as United's best player. Lisandro Martínez and Harry Maguire have options too, but both need to prove consistency and fitness. Marcus Rashford's situation is murkier. United's 40-game season was their lightest since 1914-15, but a 55-60 game campaign next year demands at least two quality midfield additions to compete with Mainoo.
