Colombian international striker Jhon Durán has joined Portuguese club Benfica on loan from Al Nassr. This marks the seventh club of the 22-year-old's career. The initial loan fee is €6.1 million, with an option to buy for €30 million.

Durán has previously played in the Premier League, MLS, Saudi Pro League, Turkish Süper Lig, and Russian Premier League. He began his career at Envigado in Colombia before moving to MLS side Chicago Fire in 2022. In 2023, he joined Aston Villa, famously scoring a Champions League winner against Bayern Munich. He then moved to Al Nassr in January 2025, playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, followed by a brief spell at Fenerbahce and a loan to Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Durán expressed his gratitude for the move to Benfica, stating, "I still say it's the biggest club in Portugal. I'm very grateful to be here. I want to give it my all!" He aims to help the team win the Primeira Liga title and repay the fans' support. He will play under manager Marco Silva.
