Inter Milan talks with Tottenham for Djed Spence

Inter Milan are progressing talks with Tottenham over a deal to sign Djed Spence, sources told ESPN. No deal has been agreed yet, but negotiations continue over a transfer worth around €30 million ($34.6m/£25.6m).

Tottenham are open to selling the 26-year-old as head coach Roberto De Zerbi does not view Spence as essential this season. Spurs signed Spence from Middlesbrough in July 2022 for £19m ($25.6m) with add-ons. He made his England debut in September 2025—triggering a £1m payment to Middlesbrough—and was a surprise inclusion in Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad.

Although the full-back impressed during the tournament, Spurs are keen to cash in after his value rose. Spence had an extended break after England's third-place finish in the United States. There has been no major breakdown with De Zerbi, but Spence's path to regular first-team football appears complicated. De Zerbi recently called Pedro Porro the best right-back in the world, and Spurs also signed Andy Robertson on a free transfer.
