ESPN's resident scout Tor-Kristian Karlsen has compiled his annual ranking of the 21 best Under-21 players set to feature at the 2026 World Cup across the United States, Mexico and Canada. The list, developed with input from professional scouts and European sporting directors, identifies emerging talents who could make their mark on football's biggest stage this summer.

At No. 21, Norway's Antonio Nusa represents RB Leipzig with an estimated €32 million valuation. The technically gifted winger impressed during World Cup qualifiers, scoring against Italy both home and away while pulling attention from established stars like Erling Haaland. His 3.01 successful dribbles per 90 minutes demonstrate his threat from take-ons, though decision-making in the final third needs refinement.

Morocco's Ayyoub Bouaddi ranks at No. 20, valued at €50 million by Lille. The 18-year-old switched allegiance from France in May 2025 and brings ball-winning capabilities with 75.5% long-ball precision. Senegal's Ibrahim Mbaye (No. 19) and Ivory Coast's Bazoumana Touré (No. 18) add pace and creativity, with Touré's 0.35 assists per 90 minutes highlighting his crossing ability.

Several high-profile players missed the cut due to age restrictions, including Jude Bellingham and Alejandro Balde who are 22. Injuries ruled out Brazil's Estêvão and Portugal's Geovany Quenda, while others like Franco Mastantuono and Roony Bardghji failed to make their national squads. The rankings provide insight into rising stars who could define the tournament.
