Tucker Kraft Activated Off PUP List

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft has been activated off the physically unable to perform list, marking his return less than nine months after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL in his right knee. He is expected to be gradually reintegrated into practice, starting with individual drills and walk-throughs.

Coach Matt LaFleur indicated that Kraft will not participate in team drills initially, emphasizing the importance of re-acclimating him to the team's processes. The Packers generally adhere to a nine-month recovery timeline for ACL injuries, and Kraft's activation is consistent with this, though he was injured on November 2.

General manager Brian Gutekunst noted Kraft's impressive appearance during recovery but stressed the team's cautious approach, citing the science behind the nine-month mark, similar to Christian Watson's situation last year. Kraft had a strong performance before his injury, recording 32 catches for 489 yards and six touchdowns, making him a unique tight end statistically through Week 9.

Kraft is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and both he and the Packers aim to finalize a new deal soon, potentially before the season begins. Discussions are reportedly in their early stages.
