Christian Eriksen will begin his rehabilitation in Denmark following his on-field collapse last month. The 34-year-old midfielder clutched his chest during a friendly match against Ukraine on June 7, an incident that recalled his cardiac arrest at the European Championship five years prior.

Eriksen, who has an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) fitted to support his heart, stated he was "doing well" and that the recent event, while impactful, was different from his 2021 incident. He was able to leave the field under his own power and was subsequently hospitalized for further testing.

Eriksen was under contract with German club VfL Wolfsburg for the upcoming season after joining the team last September. He captained Wolfsburg in their final match, a playoff defeat that resulted in their relegation from the Bundesliga.
