Barcelona Grant Torres Training Leave Ahead of PSG Move

Barcelona have granted Ferran Torres permission to miss training as they negotiate his move to Paris Saint‑Germain, source says. Torres, 26, had been off after scoring Spain's winning goal in the World Cup final. Barcelona turned down an initial €40m bid from PSG and now aim for a total around €55m.

The club will likely close the deal soon, after PSG's European Super Cup win over Aston Villa. Torres will rejoin former manager Luis Enrique at Parc des Princes after leaving Manchester City in 2022. PSG need a striker following Gonçalo Ramos’s exit to AC Milan; they signed Randal Kolo Muani from Tottenham.

With Torres set to leave, Barcelona will seek a new No.9. Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez remains a top target. Torres, once a winger, has been used as a No.9, scoring 21 goals in 49 matches last season.

The move underscores Barcelona’s willingness to let a key player depart while securing a substantial fee, signaling a shift in the club’s transfer strategy.
